ITINERARY

Your private driving guide will pick you up at your hotel in Rome  and take you to Assisi, in the north of Umbria region. You will have a guided tour of St Francis and St Clare Basilica and the main attractions of the town, before having some free time for lunch. You will also visit the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels and see the famous Rose garden, where roses miracously grow with no thornes. Part of your visit in Assisi is also the tiny stone home of St. Francis and his followers, where the Saint died. DESCRIPTION
Assisi was the birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan religious order in the town in 1208, and St. Clare , the founder of the Poor Sisters, which later became the Order of Poor Clares after her death. Assisi is the spiritual capital of Umbria, a town more tied to its most famous son than anywhere else on earth. Assisi represents a unique example of continuity of a city-sanctuary within its environmental setting from its Umbrian-Roman and medieval origins to the present. It is an unmissable religious destination.
