ITINERARY

Your private driving guide will pick you up at your hotel in Rome  and take you to The marvelous complex of the Abbey of Casamari. You will visit the church dedicated to the Lady of Assumption and consecrated by Pope Honorius III in 1217, the Cloister, the Chapter House, the Refectory, the fields and the workshops. You will then head to the village of Collepardo, where you taste a typical lunch with local specialties. The region is still far from the tourist path and you will enjoy a unique atmosphere. In the afternoon you continue to the spectacular Carthusian Monastery of Trisulti that rises up at an altitude of 2000 feet. You visit the cloister and the Chapter House but above all the ancient pharmacy, today a museum, to which this place owes much of its fame. You will drive along a scenic road back to Rome

DESCRIPTION
The Abbey of Casamary is a jewel of Gothic Italian architecture, the building dates back to 1096 when it was constructed by the Benedictines. The abbey itself initially saw great economic development, but at the beginning of the XII century it was the victim of a severe crisis, leading the monastery, along with other Benedictine monasteries in Italy, to join the Cistercian Order. Today it is inhabited and officiated over by the Cistercian Benedictine Monks of Casamari. The Carthusian Monastery of Trisulti gives visitors the chance to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of emotions, art and culture. This wonderful complex of buildings is the perfect place to regenerate and find serenity. The village of Collepardo, located a few miles away from Trisulti, is a medieval gem in a region rich in history, art and religion.
